Beverly Fire crews were dispatched to a report of a structure fire on Lovett st. at approximately 6 P.M., Engine 1, Engine 5, Ladder 1 and car 2 responded. Upon arrival crews searched the building and located fire in the rear stailwell, upon further investigation fire was found travelling inside the rear walls up to the second and third floor. The incident commander ordered a third engine to the scene, which was already on it's way to cover headquarters. Shortly thereafter the incident commander ordered a 2nd alarm for manpower, Salem Engine 1, Danvers Engine 3 and Wenham Engine 404 responded and staged further down Lovett st. at the end of May st. Rehab 5 also responded to the scene. Those companies began relieving Beverly crews working inside the building. After opening walls and pulling a false ceiling on the first floor crews knocked down all the remaining fire. Mutual aid was released shortly thereafter, Beverly apparatus didn't begin to clear the scene until approximately 8:30 P.M. reserve Engine 4 was staffed with call back personnel and stationed at the scene as a fire watch. Topsfield engine 2, Manchester-by-the-sea Engine 4 and Hamilton Ladder 4 covered Beverly stations during the incident.
